Meridians is one of the seasons I am most happy with. I wanted to create a surreal world and had a very clear sense of what I wanted aesthetically. The combination of 3D and flat forms along with treated footage comes together to create a weird kind of secret society environment where anything is possible. You can see in Meridians that I have pushed myself to merge my interests in half tone zine and RISO print with flatten 3D you can see in the skull and panther head. My wife Amy and my friend Wes were employed as the people in the narrative. I spent a great deal of time treating the footage and adding flat colors to the clothing to give them a more graphic tone. Overall this is a purely formal exploration but I still am proud of it. By 2009 I had hit a visual stride that still felt fresh to me.
