Apologue was created in 2003 and was inspired by fables and fairy tales. I asked my girlfriend and other friends to wear character masks and act out little stories on a primitive green screen. All of the footage was shot on a Canon GL1 Mini DV hence the crude nature of the keyed footage. The project was an opportunity for me to experiment with combining graphics and moving footage. The cumulative effect is a little creepy but I do like the color palette and am happy I made the effort to take the somewhat weird idea all the way to completion.
